Job Description

1. Effect set-up and/or clean-up operations for all events, being cognizant of set-up and cleaning standards.
2. Set-up facilities as per customer request and diagram, to include but not limited to setting tables, chairs, staging, dance floor, sound and lights, etc.
3. Strike and clean facilities to include: removal and storage of tables, chairs, dance floor and any other furnishings or equipment. Pick up and dispose of all trash to dumpster. Vacuum, sweep and mop floors as appropriate.
4. In case of outdoor events, stack and store furnishings and equipment out of the weather.
5. Operate sound and stage lighting equipment, per specific qualification standards.
6. Respond to last minute changes in schedule.
7. Assume duties as directed by the Building Manager to include such tasks as organizing closets, straightening standard room sets, general maintenance and cleaning of production service area (behind stage, etc.).
8. This position may be required to drive state vehicles or rented vehicles in the course of departmental, divisional, or university business.
9. Assist the maintenance staff with heavy lifting and moving of office equipment, staging and other furniture and materials as needed.
10. Attend all bi-weekly scheduled shift meetings and training sessions.
11. Perform other duties as assigned, including cleaning floors, tables, chairs and removal of trash as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be a student enrolled for credit. Applicants may be a student at UWF or any other college, university or high school. A student enrolled at an institution other than UWF must provide proof of attendance by submitting a registration/fee payment receipt from the school they will attend.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs.)
• Work effectively without direct supervision.
• Follow written and verbal instruction.
• Interpret diagrams and written instructions and apply that knowledge to actual setups.
• Ability to work as a team member or independently.
• Must be available to work an assigned shift and be flexible to work nights and weekends as needed. Average of 10-15 hours a week required. This position will work irregular and flexible hours
• Must maintain a GPA of a 2.0 or better- Ability to work in a diverse team environment.
- Ability to work independently and follow directions.
- Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.

Salary Range $8.10 per hour
