Job Summary

Maintain, operate and support a Cyber Range to facilitate education, training, research and outreach activities. Create and document virtualized networks to support instructional materials.

Install, configure, and support an organization’s local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.

Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and may perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.

Monitor and test Web site performance to ensure Web sites operate correctly and without interruption.

Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.

Administer network security measures.

Develop instructional material, coordinate educational content, and incorporate current technology in specialized fields that provide guidelines to educators and instructors for developing curricula and conducting courses.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma and six years of appropriate experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field with 0 to 3 years experience, Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field with 3 to 6 years experience, or High School Diploma with 6 to 9 years experience.
Meet Department of Defense 8570 IAT Level II (e.g. CompTIA Security+)
Experience with:
- Virtualization infrastructure (i.e. VMware vCenter and Kernel-based Virtual Machine)
- Operating systems (i.e. Windows, Redhat) 
- Networking routers and firewalls (i.e. PFsense)
- Major applications (i.e. Apache, Microsoft Internet Information Services, Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services, Domain Name Servers, Microsoft Structured Query Language Server, and Oracle Database)
- Hardware (i.e RAID controllers and rack mounting servers) 
- Security (i.e. Security Technical Implementation Guide, patch management, and information assurance vulnerability management compliance and reporting)
- Soft Skills (i.e. Good written and verbal communications)
