Job Summary

Applications are invited for a tenure-track assistant or associate professor position in management (position #119370, starting August 2018 subject to funding availability. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The individual holding this position will be responsible primarily for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Human Resources Management, Compensation and Benefits, Recruitment, Performance Management, and Organizational Behavior. Additional teaching assignments may include courses in general management.

In addition to teaching and conducting research, successful candidates will be required to perform academic and career counseling, serve on departmental, college and university committees, and participate in assessment activities. A normal teaching load is three courses per semester. This position may require teaching at other campuses of the university. Opportunities for summer support for teaching or research are normally available. Opportunities may exist for faculty to teach abroad at the University’s partner schools.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Human Resources Management, Compensation and Benefits, Recruitment, Performance Management, or Organizational Behavior or a closely related discipline from an Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited school at the time of appointment with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. ABDs will be considered; but must provide strong evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed prior to August 2018.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have a Ph.D. in a field closely related to at least one of the teaching areas specified above from an Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accredited school at the time of appointment. ABDs will be considered; but must provide strong evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed prior to August 2018. Prior teaching experience in related teaching fields at the college level with evidence of teaching excellence is strongly desired. Involvement with community engaged learning and success in developing cooperative programs/initiatives with industry, as well as, evidence of continuing involvement with local and national industry partners is preferred. Candidates considered for the rank of assistant professor must demonstrate the potential to pursue a balanced commitment to excellent teaching, productive research, and active professional and community service. A track record of high-quality scholarly publications, teaching excellence, and service to academic and professional communities is required for appointment at the rank of associate professor.
