Job Summary

The position requires innovation in teaching and learning, professional development, a commitment to collegiality, academic citizenship and cultural diversity. The Department of Instructional, Workforce and Applied Technology and the College of Education and Professional Studies emphasize community engagement and high impact educational practices.

The successful candidate will teach face to face and online courses in the Building Construction program. The department has a particular need for an individual with expertise in the following areas:
• Statics and Strengths of Materials
• Structures
• Soils, Concrete and Masonry
• Construction Mechanics I and II
• Building Information Modeling (BIM)
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda, contributing to the national dialogue on important issues in the candidate’s field of study, and provide service to the department, college, university and community. The successful candidate will also provide direct student support through mentoring and assistance with internship placements.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, Construction Science, Construction Engineering Management, Building and Construction, Construction Management or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.  

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. (or ABD with completion by start date) in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Building Science, Construction Science, Construction Engineering Management, Building and Construction, Construction Management or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching and service, an established research agenda that will guide the candidate’s scholarly career in applied research and contribute to the national dialogue on important issues in the candidate’s field of study, and exceptional organizational, time management, project management, and communication skills. Online teaching experience preferred but not required.

Salary Range Commensurate with experience.
Contract Period (In Months) Nine month
FTE 1.0
Normal Work Hours 8am - 5pm, flexible.
