Job Summary

Teach courses in BSW and MSW programs. Teaching load may include practice, policy, and research courses. Publish and engage in creative activities leading to a record of significant scholarly achievement. Faculty is expected to work closely with regional community services.

The University of West Florida is a public Regional Comprehensive University in the Florida University System located in Pensacola Florida. The department completed the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) reaffirmation process for the BSW and MSW programs in 2017. The Social Work program has been serving students since the early seventies and currently has an enrollment of 200 BSW students, 100 MSW students and 100 students who have declared a social work minor. While most students are on the main campus (Pensacola), the program offers courses online and in other locations in Northwest Florida.

Two Assistant Professor positions will be filled from this posting, 108250 and 102740.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Social Work or closely related discipline from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.  

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Social Work or closely related discipline from an accredited institution. ABD will be considered if degree will be completed by the start date for the position.

A MSW from an accredited school of social work.

A minimum of 2 years post MSW practice experience.

Current clinical licensure preferred.
